NEW YORK
WHERE WE ATE
The Ragtrader
'Approachable American classic food with bespoke cocktails, lush decor open late night in the Garment District NYC.'
We loved the Ragtrader for amazing cocktails, Ceviche Tacos and Fried Chicken Sliders.
Los Tacos no. 1
'Bustling taqueria serving tacos, quesadillas & aguas frescas in a street-style set-up (no seating).'
The best Tacos outside of Mexico? We're not sure. They're certainly the best we have had!
Black Tap Burger
'Black Tap is the new take on the classic NYC burger joint.'
The burgers here aren't for the faint-hearted. We particularly loved the side of 'FRIED MOZZ' and 'THE CAKESHAKE®' (I am not sure you can call this a milkshake, perhaps drinkable cake batter with a slab of cake ontop?).
The Smith
'The Smith is a casual American Brasserie with four upbeat locations in New York City'
Pretty much what youd expect from an american brasserie. Their 'Shrimp and Grits' and 'New York Strip' are worth a shoutout!
Friedmans
'Friedman's is a family run business, which operates locations throughout New York City serving American comfort food'
This was our go to brunch/breakfast destination. Having gone there on our first morning, we had to go back and try some more. No-frills American breakfast.
Carraghers Pub
'Sports bar and restaurant dedicated to Liverpool. A delicious gastro pub located in New York City's Financial District.'
We know, an Irish Pub abroad...but...who doesn't like a pint of Guinness, a platter of chicken wings and 'frickles'?
Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory
'Small-batch ice cream made in-house & scooped in an ex-fireboat house with Manhattan skyline views.'
Brookyln might be cold enough in the winter, that didn't stop us!
Ess-a-bagel
'Ess-A-Bagel is known for amazing bagels, luscious, appetizing salads, varieties of cream cheese, choice meats, and great catering services.'
There are plenty of bagel places to choose from in NYC, this was our choice and we weren't disappointed.
Vice Versa
'Creatively sauced house-made pastas & other Italian eats in a sleek space with garden seating'
Again, there are plenty of Italian restaurants in NYC. We had the Arincini, Cacio e pepe and Duck Ragu. Rich, plentiful and delicious.
Katz Deli
'No-frills deli with theatrically cranky service serving mile-high sandwiches since 1888.'
We probably don't need to introduce this spot. Chaos. However the Philly Cheesesteak made it just about worth it, even if we had to take out a small mortgage for it ($21+)!
Time Out Market New York
'Bi-level waterfront hangout showcasing a curated lineup of local food & drink plus cultural events.'
A food market to satisfy pretty much any food craving.
Juliana's Pizza
'Classic & specialty pies from a coal-fired oven in a modern space by pizza legend Patsy Grimaldi.'
Proper pizza in Brookyln.
Nowon
'Korean-American plates are served in an intimate setting with hip hop influences.'
We could gush over this place for hours. The burgers, the starters. Just go.
